Leevac Marine Incorporated was founded under the Zigler Company Incorporated of Jennings, Louisiana.

In 1956, the company was acquired by the Vaccari family, where the company was renamed as Leevac Marine Incorporated. And, began constructing their own marine equipment.

In 2001, the company acquired the Amerada Hess Oil Corporation's marine division fleet.

In 2002, Leevac Marine Incorporated merged with Hornbeck Offshore Services of Covington, Louisiana. The two companies formed Hornbeck Offshore Transportation Services of New Orleans, Louisiana.
