The Grand River Navigation Company is a wholly owned subsidy of Rand Logistics. Headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey, Rand Logistics was formed in 2004, and began operations in the maritime industry in 2006 through acquisition of the outstanding shares of capital stock of Lower Lakes Towing Limited that was established in 1994.
The Grand River Navigation company is a provider of marine bulk freight shipping and ship repair services throughout the Great Lakes region. The company also operates a fleet of three conventional bulk carriers and eleven self-unloading bulk carriers.
Rand Logistics operated Conneaut Creek Ship Repair and Lower Lakes Ship Repair providing ship repair, fabrication and industrial maintenance through the Great Lakes region.
In 2011, and was acquired by American Industrial Partners in March 2018 becoming a privately held company.
