Built in 1979, by William M. Sherman of Wilmington, California as the Tuffy II for the Catalina Freight Lines Incorporated of Avalon, California.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by the Pacific Tugboat Service Incorporated of San Diego, California. Where she was renamed as the Tommy.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at. 1,200 horsepower.
