Built in 1980, by the L.A.D. Construction Company of Gibson, Louisiana (hull #002) as the Gemini for Delta Towing Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana.

In 1997, the tug was acquired by Falgout Brothers of Global Towing Services Incorporated of LaRose, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Lady Ashley.

In 1998, she was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Canyon Eagle.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by the Captain Arthur Fournier of the Fournier Towing and Ship Services of Belfast, Maine. Where she was renamed as the Palm Beach.

In 2007, she was acquired by Sterling Equipment Incorporated of Quincy, Massachusetts. Where the tug was renamed as the Jay Michael.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3508 diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated 2,200 horsepower.
