Built in 1975, by St. Louis Ship Incorporated of St. Louis, Missouri (hull #3058) as the John D. Geary for Midland Enterprises Incorporated of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Marquette Warrior.

Powered by two, Tier III compliant, EMD-16-710G7C-T3 diesel engine. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.515:1. Turning two, Avdl, 117(in) by 115.625(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 8,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, John Deere 6081, generator sets. The tug's capacities are 116,372 gallon of fuel, and 2,099 gallon of lube oil.
