PENNY ECKSTEIN

Built in 1975, by the Dravo Corporation of Neville Island, Pennsylvania (hull #6521) as the Rusty Flowers for Flowers Transportation Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi.

In 1987, the tug was acquired by Valley Transportation Incorporated of St. Louis, Missouri. Where she retained her name.

In 1992, she was acquired by the American Commercial Barge Line Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Penny Eckstein.

Powered by two, EMD 12-645E7B/1042-NREC diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of
4.48:1. Turning two, Avdl, 108(in) by 106(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 4,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, John Deere 6081 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 95,724 gallons of fuel, and 1,485 gallons of lube oil.
