Built in 2002, by La Force Shipyard Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #133) as the John 1:1 for American Tugs Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana.

In 2003, American Tugs Incorporated renamed the tug as the Repentance.

In 2010, she was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA-38-M diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.39:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,700 horsepower.
