Built in 1979, by the Albert Ortis Boat Building Company of Krotz Springs, Louisiana (hull #29) as the Kathryn Eckstein for Eckstein Marine Services of Jefferson, Louisiana. A division of the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana.

In 1984, Eckstein Marine Services renamed the tug as the Miss Roslyn.

In 2007, the tug was transferred to the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

Re powered in 2001, she is powered by two, Caterpillar 3412 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,250 horsepower.
