Built in 1998, by St. Charles Steel Works Incorporated of Thibodaux, Louisiana (hull #96) as the Seth Harrison for the DRD Towing Company Incorporated of Marrero, Louisiana.

In 2004, the DRD Towing Company renamed the tug as the Daniel Sr.

In 2008, the tug was acquired by Eckstein Marine Services of Jefferson, Louisiana. A division of the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the St. Elmo.

In 2012, she was transferred the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

Re powered in 2008, she is powered by two, Mitsubishi S6A3 diesel engines. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
