Built in 1965, by St. Charles Steelworks Incorporated of St. Charles, Louisiana (hull #60) as the Moby Jim the Moby Marine Corporation of Miami, Florida.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by the Ward Towing Company of Deltaville, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Capt. Johnny.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
