Built in 1978, by Garber Brothers Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana (hull #7) as the Vernon G. for Garber Brothers Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana.

The tug was later acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Grand Eagle.

She was then acquired by the Delta Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Delta Mule.

In 2013, the tug was acquired by Eastern Barge Services Incorporated of Syossett, New York (a subsidy of the Greater New York Marine Transportation Incorporated of Syossett, New York.) Where she was renamed as the Eastern Dawn.

In 2020, she was acquired by Stasinos Marine LLC. of Weymouth, Massachusetts. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins QSK-19 diesel engines. With ZF ZFW 2450 reduction gears at a ratio of 5.04:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 8,800 gallons of fuel, and 100 gallons of lube oil.

The towing equipment consists of two, hand operated, 40 ton deck winches.
