Built in 1974, by Rayco Shipbuilders and Repairs Incorporated of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #37) as the Abbie C. for the PCS Phosphate Company of Aurora, North Carolina.

1980, the PCS Phosphate Company renamed the tug as the Beaufort Belle.

In 2018, the tug was acquired by the Norfolk Tug Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she retained her name.

She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,400 horsepower.
