Built in 1999, by R. and S. Marine Incorporated of Lockport, Louisiana (hull #18) as the Atlantic Dawn for Dawn Offshore Services Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA-38M2 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 530-1DC reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.96:1. Turning two, 76(in) stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,400 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 50kW generators, driven by two, CM 6B8.9G diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 51,000 gallons of fuel, 450 gallons of lube oil, and 6,000 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consists of a double drum, Seahorse DDTA 175 towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(in) of 1.5(in) towing wire on the primary drum. And, 2,000(in) of 1.5(in) towing wire on the secondary drum.
