Built in 1977, by Dravo SteelShip Corporation of Pine Bluff, Arkansas (hull #73-50-77) as Ruth McCoy for the Midstream Fuel Service Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama.

In 2008, the tug was acquired by the Stephens Maritime Corporation of Bay Minette, Alabama. Where the tug was renamed as the Miss Sammylee.

Powered by two, GM 12V-71N diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.5:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 800 horsepower.
