SATURN

Built in 1969, by Mangone Shipbuilding of Houston, Texas (hull #89) as the Saturn for Crowley Marine Services of Seattle, Washington.

Designed by Phil Spalding, the tug was a sister to the Jupiter class tugs.

In 2014, the tug was acquired by the Brusco Tug and Barge Company of Longview, Washington. Where she retained her name.

Originally powered by two Caterpillar 399 diesel engines. With Lufkin reduction gears, at ratio of 7:1. Turning two, fixed pitch, five bladed, stainless steel propellers. In 1994, The tug was later repowered with two Caterpillar 3512 diesel engines. For a rated at 3,500 horsepower.

The tug's towing equipment consisted of a Skagit RB-90 double drum, "waterfall" towing winch. With a capacity for 1,600(ft) of 1.75(in) towing wire on each drum. With an additional 600(ft) of 9(in) emergency towing hawser.
