Built in 1979, by Eymard Shipyard Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana (hull #7) as the H.A. Adams for Adams International Marine Incorporated of Venice, Louisiana.

In 1987, the tug was acquired by Sea Ray Marine Services Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Mr. Trent.

In 1988, she was acquired by the L.L. and G. Construction Company of Morgan City, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Mr. Jimmy.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by the Martin Midstream Partnership Incorporated of Vidor, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Martin Express.

Powered by two, Mitsubishi S6RY1-MPTA diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio 5.17:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.
