Built in 1973, by Houma Welders Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #36) as the W.O. Watson for American Commercial Lines Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana.

In 2008, the tug was acquired by Martin Marine LLC. of LaPorte, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 2016, she was acquired by the Cooper Marine and Timberlands Corporation of Mobile, Alabama. Where the tug was renamed as the Jackson III.

Powered by two, GM 8-645E7 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at
a ratio of 3.985:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,800 horsepower.
