Built in 1958, by the Christy Corporation of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin (hull #YTB-753) as the YTB-753 "Marin" for the United States Navy.
Her keel was laid down on July 15th, 1959. The tug was launched on April 22nd 1960. She was delivered to the United States Navy and placed in service as YTB-753 "Marin" on June 06th, 1960.
The tug was initially assigned to 10th Naval District, Naval Base Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. She was later transferred to Guantanamo Bay. It is unknown when she was placed out of service. The tug was struck from the naval register on May 21st, 1991. And, the tug was transferred to the Maritime Administration on October 20th, 1994.
In 2000, she was acquired by McAllister Towing and Transportation of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Stacy McAllister. However, the tug never entered service for McAllister Towing.
In 2006, the tug was acquired by Basic Marine Incorporated of Escanaba, Michigan. Where she was renamed as the Marin.
In 2010, she was scrapped at Escanaba, Michigan. She was a single screw tug, rated at 2,000 horsepower.
