Built in 1999, by Southern Oregon Marine Incorporated of Coos Bay, Oregon (hull #1) as the Tira Lani for the Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company of Portland, Oregon.
In 2023, the tug was leased to the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan renamed. Where she was renamed as the Cape Lookout.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines. Turning two, 86(in) propellers, mounted Ulstein 1650 z-drive units. She is a twin screw tractor tug, rated at 4,100 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 80kW Northern Lights M80C generator sets. The tug's capacities are 23,900 gallons of fuel, 1,150 gallons of lube oil, and 2,300 gallons of water.
The towing equipment consists of a Knutson Special GC-200 winch mounted on the bow. Outfitted with 600(ft) of 2(in) soft line. The bow winch is hydraulically driven by the service generator.
