Built in 1975, by Superior Boat Works Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #122) as the J.W. Wilson Jr. for Weathers Towing Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi.

In 1978, the tug was acquired by the Brent Towing Company Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Charlton Brent.

In 1980, she was acquired by Alter Barge Line Incorporated of Bettendorf, Iowa. Where the tug was renamed as the Gordon Jones.

In 2001, the tug was acquired by the Magnolia Marine Transport Company of Jackson, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Kelly Lee.

Powered by two, EMD 12-645 E5 diesel engines. With Falk 2435 MRPD-C reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.480. Turning two, Kalenberg, 108(in) by 90(in), four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 4,300 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 100kW, Delco generator sets. Driven by two, Detriot Diesel 8V-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 119,860 gallons of fuel, 2,038 gallons of lube oil, and 11,700 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of four, 40 ton Nabrico face winches.
