IRON TRAVELER

Built in 1977, by the Grafton Boat Company of Grafton, Illinois (hull #601/86) as the Iron Traveler for the Ohio Barge Line Incorporated of Dravosburg, Pennsylvania.

In 1984, the tug was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where she retained her name.

In 1991, the Ingram Barge Company renamed the tug as the Capt. O.A. Franks.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA38-M2 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. Turning two, fixed pitch propellers mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.
