Built in 1963, by the Williams McWilliams Company of Morgan City, Louisiana as the the Oakville for the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company of Oak Brook, Illinois.

In 2005, the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company renamed the tug as the Jack Newman.

In 2018, she was acquired by the Gore Marine Corporation of Townsend, Georgia. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2022, the tug was acquired by the Harbor Bunkering Corporation of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Where she retained her name.

She is a twin screw tug, rated 1,410 horsepower.
