Built in 1971, by the Bergeron Machine Shop of Poydras, Louisiana (hull #1001) as the Leander Jr. for Torres Marine Transport Incorporated of Chalmette, Louisiana.

In 1981, the tug was acquired by the Jerico Towing Company of Grants Pass, Oregon. Where she was renamed as the Jerico Chief.

In 1996, she was acquired by Marin Tug and Barge Incorporated of San Rafael, California. Where the tug was renamed as the Marin Missy.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by Westar Marine Services Incorporated of San Francisco, California. Where she was renamed as the Rivercat.

She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 950 horsepower.
