Built in 1981, by Modern Marine Power Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #39) as the Persistence for Modern Marine Power Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana.
In 1982, the tug was acquired by Harvey Offshore of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Harvey Gladiator.
In 1983, she was acquired by A.T. Cheramie of Lafayette, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Craig A. Cheramie.
In 2008, the tug was acquired by Bisso Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the William Bisso. The tug was named for William A. Bisso V. The son of W.A. "Beau" Bisso IV.
In 2017, she was acquired the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Crosby Liberty.
In 2021, the tug was phased out of service and as "laid up" at Port Fourchon, Louisiana.
Powered by two, EMD 16-645 E2 diesel engines with Reintjes reduction gears at a ratio of 4:1 turning two 108(in) by 81(in) stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in Kort Nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,200 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW generators driven by two GM 6-71 engines. The tug has a fuel capacity of 47,200 gallons.
The towing gear consists of an INTERcon DD-175 double drum towing machine. Outfitted with, 2,200(ft) of 1.75(in) towing wire. With two hydraulic towing pins, and a stern roller.
