OSG COURAGEOUS

Built in 2011, by VT Halter Marine Incorporated of Pascagoula, Mississippi (hull #2003E) as the OSG Courageous for the Overseas Shipholding Group of New York, New York.

She was the first ATLANTIC V tug designed was by Robert P. Hill of Ocean Tug and Barge Engineering of Milford, Massachusetts for the Overseas Shipholding Group of New York, New York.

The ATLANTIC V class tug was a modification of the ATLANTIC III class tugs. She was constructed with an additional 16(ft) in length over the ATLANTIC III class vessels.

Powered by two, Tier II compliant, sixteen cylinder EMD L-16-710G7C-T2 diesel engines. With Lufkin RHS3200HG reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.04:1. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch, high efficiency propellers, with kort nozzles, and triple rudders. She is twin screw tug, rated 8,000 horsepower.

Outfitted with an INTERcon coupler system. Her electrical service is provided by three, 175kW Cummins generator sets. The tug's capacities are 156,989 gallons of fuel, 3,986 gallons of lube oil, 702 gallons of hydraulic oil, 17,766 gallons of water, and 30,432 gallons of ballast.
