Built in 2007, by Sea Boats Incorporated of Fall River, Massachusetts (hull #8) as the Barbara C. for Sea Boats Incorporated of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
In 2011, the tug was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Arabian Sea.
In 2011, the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2017, the tug was phased out of service. And, was "laid up" at the Kirby Corporation's yard in Staten Island, New York.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,800 horsepower.
The tug's capacities are 102,000 gallons of fuel, 1,7600 gallons of lube oil, 77,271 gallons of ballast, and 10,000 gallons of potable water.
