Built in 2014, by SENESCO Marine of North Kingstown, Rhode Island (hull #301) as the Eric McAllister for the McAllister Towing and Transportation Company of New York, New York.
Named for fifth generation family member, and McAllister Towing Chief Financial Officer, Eric M. McAllister. She was the tenth tug designed by Jensen Maritime Consultants of Seattle, Washington for the McAllister Towing and Transportation Company.
She was the second tug constructed by SENESCO Marine for McAllister Towing and Transportaion. The Eric McAllister was also, the thirty-first tractor tug to enter service for the McAllister Towing and Transportation Company.
Powered by two, Tier III compliant, Caterpillar 3516CHD diesel engines. She was the second Tier III compliant tug in McAllister Towing's fleet. With Lufkin gearboxes, turning two, Schottel SRP1215 "z drives." For a rated 5,150 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW/480V generators. Driven by two, John Deere diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 30,000 gallons of fuel, 6,150 gallons of potable water, and 14,314 gallons of fresh water ballast.
The towing equipment consists of a a JonRie 250, single drum, escort winch. With full render/recover capabilities mounted on the bow. Outfitted with 450(ft) of Saturn 12 hawser, with 100(ft) of Saturn 12 backer line.
