Built in 1987, in Honolulu, Hawaii for the Uaukewai Diving Salvage Fish Incorporated, a subsidiary of Smith Maritime / Hawaiian InterIsland Towing of Seattle, Washington as the Nahiku.

In 2008, the tug was acquired by K-Sea Transportation Partnership of East Brunswick, New Jersey where she retained her name.

As of 2011, she is no longer listed as active.

She was rated at 750 horsepower.
