Built in 1961, by Southern Shipbuilding of Slidell, Louisiana (hull # YTB 766) as the YTB-766 (Wapakoneta) for the United States Navy.

A Natick class large harbor tug for the United States Navy. Her keel was laid down on the 1st of August 1962 and was launched on the 11th of June 1963. She was delivered to the United States Navy on the 25th of July 1963 and was placed in service as YTB-766 (Wapakoneta) in October of 1963, for the 5th Naval District at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.

It is unknown when the tug was placed out of service. She was struck from the Naval Register on the 14th of April 2001 and sold on the 16th of July 2001 by the Defense Re utilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) to Boston Towing and Transportation of Boston, Massachusetts for $296,037 where she was renamed as the Hercules.

In 2011, she was removed from service by Boston Towing and Transportation. And was later acquired by Nigerian Interests.

Powered by a single Fairbanks Morse 10-38D-81/8 diesel engine with a single Lufkin reduction gear at a ratio of 6:1 for a rated 1,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two 60kW generators driven by two 6-71 Detroit Diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 19,900 gallons of fuel oil, 350 gallons of lube oil, 20,225 gallons of ballast water, and 3,300 gallons of fresh water.

The tug's deck equipment consists of a hydraulic capstan mounted on the bow and stern.
