Built in 1956, by St. Louis Ship of St. Louis, Missouri (hull #1522) as the Betty Moran for the Moran Inland Waterways Company of Mount Vernon, Indiana. A subsidiary of the Moran Towing Company of New York, New York.

In 1962, the tug was acquired by the National Marine Service of St. Louis, Missouri. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1962, she was acquired by the Houghland Barge Lines of Paducah, Kentucky. where she was renamed as the Jim Houghland.

In 1976, the tug transferred to Houghland Marine Services of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Louise Daniel.

In 1977, she was acquired by the Three Rivers Rock Company of Smithland, Kentucky. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1979, the tug was acquired by the Rushing Marine Corporation of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Where she was renamed as the Evelyn Rushing.

In 1981, she was acquired by the Findett Transport Company of Alton, Illinois. Where she was renamed as the Erin Marie.

In 1981, the tug was acquired by the Wheeler Transport Company of Alton, Illinois. Where she was renamed as the LaDoris C.

In 1991, she was acquired by the Mark Twain Towing Company of Pekin, Illinois. Where she was renamed as the Joseph Ray.

In 1997, the tug was acquired by South Coast Marine Incorporated of Madisonville, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Brittany D. Montz.

In 1997, she was acquired by the CPD Towing Company. That was operated by the Mississippi Limestone Corporation of Friars Point, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Drew Davis.

In 2001, the tug was acquired by the Belcher Towing Company of Miami, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Jason Belcher.

In 2002, she was acquired by Florida Marine Transporters Incorporated of Mandeville, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

The tug was rebuilt in 1981. Powered by two Tier I compliant Caterpillar 3512M diesel engines. With Twin Disc 5600 reduction gears. She is a twin screw, square bow, push boat, rated at 2,400 horsepower.
