Built in 2004, by the Providence Steamboat Company of Fall River, Massachusetts (hull #9204) as the Maurania III for the Providence Steamboat Company of Providence, Rhode Island.
In 2006, the Providence Steamboat Company was acquired by the McAllister Towing and Transportation Company of New York, New York. Where the tug retained her name.
Powered by two, EMD 16-645 E2 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.958:1. Turning two, 114(in) by 81(in), fixed pitch, stainless steel, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,000 horsepower.
The tug's capacities are 67,500 gallons of fuel, 10,000 gallons of lube oil, and 6,900 gallons of potable water.
