Built in 1978, by Rayco Shipbuilders and Repair Incorporated of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #61) as the Margaret C. Barker for Barker Marine Limited of New York, New York.
The tug was eventually acquired by Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company of Oak Brook, Illinois. Where she was renamed as the Bruce J. Biemeck.
She was later acquired by Barker Marine Limited of New York, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Dory Barker.
In 2008, Barker Marine Limited was acquired by Buchanan Marine Limited of New Haven, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2009, Buchanan Marine Limited renamed the tug as the Buchanan 15.
In 2013, the tug was acquired by Greater New York Marine Transportation Incorporated of Syossett, New York. Where she was renamed as the Dory.
In 2016, Greater New York Marine Transportation Incorporated was acquired by the Carver Companies of Altamont, New York. Where the tug retained her name, and she was outfitted with an upper wheelhouse.
She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,600 horsepower.
