Built in 1976, by the Nashville Bridge Company of Nashville, Tennessee (hull #2486) as the El Toro Grande for Tidewater Marine Services Incorporated New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 1977, the tug was acquired by Otto Candies Incorporated of Des Allemands, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Otto Candies.
In 1986, she was acquired by Tidewater Marine Services Incorporated of New Orleans. Where she was renamed as the El Toro Grande II.
In 2003, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Crosby Venture.
Powered by two, EMD 16-645CE5 diesel engines. With Western Gear 360PCMBH reduction gears. Turning two, 132(in) by 96.5(in), four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated 5,570 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW, generator sets. Driven by two, GM DD 6V-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 102,330 gallons of fuel, 2,600 gallons of lube oil, 3,900 gallons of water, and 41,900 gallons of cargo water.
The towing equipment consists of a double drum, Markey TDSD-28, side-by-side, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,300(ft) of 2.3(in) towing wire on each drum.
