Built in 1981, by Crumpler's Shipbuilding Incorporated of Orange, Texas (hull #839) as the Jesse B. Gunstream Jr. for Higman Barge Lines Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 2004, the tug was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Mr. Carson.

In 2010, she was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Miss Karli.

Powered by two, Caterpillar D-353 diesel engines with Twin Disc 521 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5:1. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
