Built in 1976, by the Burton Shipyard Incorporated of Port Arthur, Texas (hull #532) as the El Jaguar Grande for Tidewater Marine Services Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by the Brusco Tug and Barge Company of Longview, Washington. Where she was renamed as the El Jaguar.

In 2021, the tug was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Cathlamet, Washington.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 16-645E6 diesel engines. With Reintjes WAV-2600 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.45:1. Turning two, fixed pitch, 115(in) by 88(in), four bladed, stainless steel propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated 4,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 123,368 gallons of fuel.

The towing equipment consists of a double drum, INTERcon 74077, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,200(ft) of 2(in) wire on each drum.
