SARAH (1949)

Built in 1949, by the Nichols Boat Works of Hood River, Oregon as the Dragon for the Smith Tug and Barge Company of Rainier, Oregon.

In 1977, the Smith Tug and Barge Company was acquired by the Knappton Towboat Company of Astoria, Oregon. Where the tug was renamed as the Sarah Brix.

In 1988, the Knappton Towboat Company became the Brix Maritime Company of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1993, the Brix Maritime Company was acquired by the Foss Maritime Company of of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2005, the tug was transferred to AmNAV Maritime Services of Oakland, California. A subsidiary of the Foss Maritime Company of Seattle, Washington. Where she was renamed as the Sarah.

In 2012, AmNAV Maritime Services was reabsorbed back into Foss Marine Holdings of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3508 diesel engines. She is twin screw tug, rated at 1,550 horsepower.
