Built in 2010, by Raymond and Associates of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #427) as the Mr. Sam for Odyssea Vessels Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana.
In 2014, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as Crosby Guardian.
Powered by three, Caterpillar 3512C diesel engines. With Twin Disc 5600 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.09:1. Turning three, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a triple screw tug, rated at 4,500 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 74kW, John Deere 6068 AMGK generator sets. The tug's capacities are 124,000 gallons of fuel, 8,000 gallons of potable water, 3,000 gallons of lube oil, and 500 gallons of hydraulic oil.
The towing equipment consists of a single drum, Smatco 72DW towing winch. Outfitted with 3,000(ft) of 2.25(in) towing cable.
