MARJORIE B. McALLISTER

Built in 1974, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #295) as the Marjorie B. McAllister for the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York.

In 1979, she was chartered to the Exxon Shipping Company of Wilmington, Delaware. Where she was renamed as the Exxon Ocean State.

In 1989, the tug was returned to the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. After the charter agreement expired with the Exxon Shipping Company. Where she was renamed as the Marjorie B. McAllister

In 2001, the tug was repowered with two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 16-645-E2 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.708:1. She is a twin screw tug, fitted with kort nozzles and flanking rudders. For a rated 4,000 horsepower.

Her capacities are 57,631 gallons of fuel oil, 1,075 gallons of lube oil and 1,765 gallons of potable water.

The towing gear consists of an Almon Johnson single drum towing machine equipped with 2,200(ft) of 2(in) towing wire.

She is ABS Classed +A-1 Towing, +A.M.S. The tug is also fitted with an elevating wheelhouse that features a maximum Height of Eye of 45(ft). And, fitted with two fire stations rated at 120 Gallons Per Minute.
