ISLAND CHAMPION

Built in 1944 by Peterson Shipbuilding of Tacoma, Washington as TP-133 for the United States Army.

In 1947, the vessel was acquired by Island Tug and Barge Limited of Victoria, BC. Where she was converted into a tugboat and renamed as Island Champion (Canada Official Number 177373).

In 1960, Island Tug and Barge Limited was acquired by McAllister Towing Limited Montreal of Montreal, Quebec, and began operating as an independent subsidiary. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1968, she was acquired by Alan Weathers of Cordova, Alaska. Where the tug was rebuilt as a fish packer and renamed as Kerwin W.

The vessel was later acquired by the Doleen Company of Ketchikan, Alaska. Where her name reverted to Island Champion.

In 1977, she was acquired by R.M. Robbins of Seattle, Washington. Where the vessel retained her name.

In 1983, the vessel was sold and rebuilt as a bed and breakfast, moored at Friday Harbor, Washington. Where she retained her name.

In 2002 the vessel was acquired by Pacific NW Charters of Kirkland, Washington, where she retained her name.

The tug was later sold to an individual and became a liveaboard on the Snohomish River near Everett, Washington, where she retained her name.
