Built in 1943, by Wheeler Shipbuilding of Whitestone, New York (hull #ATR64) as the ATR-64 for the United States Navy.

In 1948, the tug was acquired by the Canadian Transport Company Limited of Vancouver, British Columbia. Where she was renamed as the Logmac .

In 1950, she was acquired by the Griffiths Steamship Company Limited of Vancouver, British Columbia. Where the tug was renamed as the Mogul.

In 1961, the tug was acquired by Island Tug and Barge Limited of Vancouver, British Columbia. A subsidiary of McAllister Towing Limited Montreal of Montreal. Where the tug was renamed as the Island Monarch.

In 1969, Island Tug and Barge Limited was acquired by Genstar Limited of Vancouver, British Columbia. Where the tug initially retained her name.

In 1971, Genstar Limited partnered with the Dillingham Corporation to merge Island Tug and Barge with the Vancouver Tug Boat Company, creating Seaspan Marine Incorporated of Vancouver, British Columbia. Where the tug was renamed as the Seaspan Chinook.

Shortly after acquisition, Seaspan retired the tug from active service, using her as a floating accommodation vessel.

In 2001 the tug was acquired by the Maritime Heritage Society of Vancouver, British Columbia. Where she was renamed as the La Lumiere.

In 2008, she sank at her mooring at Britannia Beach, British Columbia, and was not salvaged.
