Built in 1975, by Atlantic Marine Florida of Jacksonville, Florida (hull #138) as the Mary M. Coppedge for Wayland T. Coppedge Jr. of the White Stack Towing Company of Jacksonville, Florida.

In 1978, the White Stack Towing Company was acquired by the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1998, the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation was acquired by the the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,200 horsepower.
