BRENT K. McALLISTER

Built in 1983, by Jakobson Shipyard of Oyster Bay, New York (hull #469) as the Chessie for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Company of Richmond, Virginia.

In 1986, she was acquired by the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Brent K. McAllister.

In 2004, the McAllister Towing and Transportation Company renamed the tug as the G.M. McAllister.

Originally powered by two, EMD 16-645-E6 diesel engines. With Reintjes WAV2250 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.947:1 for a rated 4,000 horsepower.

She was later repowered with two, Tier II compliant, EMD 8-710 G7C diesel engines. With Reintjes WAV2250 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.947:1, she is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Tier II compliant, 99kW, John Deere 6068 TMGK generator sets. The tug's capacities are 42,000 gallons of fuel oil, 410 gallons of lube oil and 3,500 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consists of 25 horsepower, New England Trawler 1451 capstan.
