Built in 2000, by Washburn and Doughty Associates of East Boothbay, Maine (hull #H67) as the Karen Moran for the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut.
Named for Karen Barker Marcou, the daughter of Kaye Barker and James Barker. The Vice Chairman of the Moran Towing Corporation.
Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD L16-645-DE6 diesel engines. With Ulstein z-drives for a rated at 4,100 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 50kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 39,097 gallons of fuel, 1,849 gallons of fresh water, and 12,416 gallons of ballast.
