AMERICAN WREN

Built in 1971, by RAYCO Shipbuilders of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #15) as the A A McKinney for Reeves Towing Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana.

In 1989, the tug was acquired by Pacific Gulf Marine of Gretna, Lousiana. Where she was renamed as the American Wren.

Under the ownership of Pacific Gulf Marine, the tug served as one of two bargehandling tugs carried aboard the Lighter Aboard Ship (LASH) vessel American Kestrel.

In 1995, she was acquired by the Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company of Coos Bay, Oregon. Where she was renamed the tug as the Arapaho.

Powered by two, Tier II compliant, MTU 12V-2000 diesel engines. With ZF model 191 BW reduction gears, at a ratio 5:1. Turning two, five bladed, 60(in) by 52(in) pitch, right hand and left hand, inboard turning, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. For a rated 1,610 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by one, 30kW, Northern Lights generator set. And one, 50kW Isuzu generator set. The tug's capacities are 8,000 gallons of fuel, 200 gallons of lube oil, and 2,000 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of two, 7.5 horsepower, Patterson 40E7 5-14 push winches. Outfitted with 85(ft) of 1(in) wire.
