MARY SUE COPPEDGE

Built in 1972, by Quality Equipment Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #109) as the Mary Sue Coppedge for Wayland T. Coppedge Jr. of the White Stack Towing Company of Jacksonville, Florida.

In 1974, the tug was acquired by the American Offshore Fleet Company Galliano, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Rosie R. Guidry.

In 1978, she was acquired by the Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company of Portland, Oregon. Where the tug was renamed as the Mary Catherine.

Rebuilt in 2000, at Southern Oregon Marine Incorporated of Coos Bay, Oregon. A division of the Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company of Portland, Oregon.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645-E2 diesel engines. With Reintjes WAV 2400 reduction gears, at a ratio 4:1. Turning two, four bladed, 96(in) by 110(in) pitch, right and left hand turning, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. For a rated 3,900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW John Deere 4045T generator sets. The tug's capacities are 80,000 gallons of fuel, 1,400 gallons of lube oil, and, 6,000 gallons of water.

The towing gear consists of Almon Johnson V-4 towing winch, with pennant drum, and gypsy head. Outfitted with 2,600(ft) of 2.25(in) towing wire.
