Built in 1982, by Houma Shipbuilding Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #76) as the Butler J. Naquin.

In 1993, the tug was acquired by the Odyssea Vessels Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Captain Jason.

In 2012, she was acquired by the White Near Coastal Towing Corporation of Syosset, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Mister Jim.

In 2016, the tug was acquired by the Coeyman's Marine Towing Company of Coeymans, New York. Where the tug retained her name.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,600 horsepower.
