Built in 1967, by the Albina Engine and Machine Works of Portland, Oregon (hull #401) as the Western Sun for the Western Transportation Company of Portland, Oregon.

In 1999, the tug was acquired by the Brusco Tug and Barge Company of Longview, Washington. Where she was renamed as the Sharon Brusco.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
