SEA EAGLE

Built in 1926 by the Defoe Boat and Motor Works of Bay City, Michigan as the Corwin-class patrol vessel USCGC Naugatuck (hull #88) for the United States Coast Guard.

In 1935 the vessel was transferred to the United States Navy, where she was renamed as the YP-56.

In 1947, she was retired and sold to the Magnolia Petroleum Company of Morgan City, Louisiana and converted into a tugboat, where she was renamed as the Shamrock. The tug was later renamed as the E.D. Smith.

In 1976, the tug was acquired by Oscar Niemeth Towing Inc of Oakland, California, where she was renamed as the Sea Eagle.
