Built in 1980, by the Greenville Shipbuilding Corporation of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #8) as the Jennifer Ann for the Upper Missouri River Towing Company of St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1990, the tug was acquired by the Boyd Marine Company of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Where the tug was renamed as the Cathy Golding.

In 2003, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channnelview, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Capt. Alpha Doucet.

In 2017, the tug was acquired by Wepfer Marine Incorporated of Memphis, Tennessee. Where the tug was renamed as the Walt Wepfer.

Powered by two, GM 12V-149 diesel engines. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,350 horsepower.
