Built in 1980, by National Shipbuilding of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #101) as the Creole Tut for Hollywood Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Volvo D12 diesel engines. She is a twin screw, square bow, push boat. Rated at 900 horsepower.
